Do I want to tag along to New Orleans? YES!!! :D Brilliant idea! When my two favorite Amy's suggested I join them in the city of the Saints there was no hesitation on my part. Seriously... none. Our LA adventures consisted of drive-through daiquiri bars, a plantation tour, Bourbon Street, hang time with Tahoe, & an afternoon football game Saints style. There is something to be said for southern hospitality... it's pretty much the same as northern hospitality but with pepper jelly.
I've been so busy with Lilo that I haven't had a chance to post any new pictures! A few weeks ago my lovely British Amy came to visit and we had a few wonderful adventures! A beach trip, a Disney afternoon, & a magical night of Wishes. Here are a few shots from our fun times together! :) Enjoy!
Jimmy and I have a new little girl! Her name is Lilo. She is a feisty, lovable little chihuahua! :) Born August 15th she is a summer baby who now loves to play outside in the grass (the terrible stuff that makes mom itch!). She loves her blue squeaky dog & her blue mini tennis-ball. She is a total cuddle bug who loves to sit on mom's lap or perch on dad's shoulder.
There's nothing better than a Sunday afternoon at Mommsen's Pumpkin Patch in northern Wisconsin! A little pumpkin chucking... some caramel apples... and an adventure through the corn-maze with the family.
I am ready for some FALL!!! :D My favorite time of the year back home is when summer turns to fall surrounding you in color (before the white takes over for 8 months!). I am super excited not only for one of my best friends weddings but to get outside and take some fall pictures. There will be plenty of posts to follow when I get back! (Both photographic & design!)
Yes... I am one of those people who whips out their camera at the restaurant table. When there's a lovely plate in front of me I feel the urge to record it either for future cooking adventures or just because it was an awesome looking plate. Here are a few delicious dishes to encourage the culinary student in all of us! :)
When one of my very best friends from home in WI called me to tell me she was engaged I'm pretty sure I squealed and jumped up and down a little bit (ok I screamed and jumped a lot and then interrogated her for the details). :) Growing up together we of course planned our future weddings... cut out pictures from magazines, made several "I want these" collages... saved all of the invites from weddings we went to... the usual! :) But when it came down to it all of the things that we had "saved" for our future weddings (from when we were teenagers) no longer did the trick. It was time for some original invites, programs, a new and improved list of favors... those little things that people will save and stuff away to remember your special day and perhaps make their own "I want these" collages from. Conveniently for my lovely bride-to-be I am a perfectionist and I wanted to give her exactly what she wanted for her special day. So when we needed to tweak the colour to get the shade just right (because God knows what you see on the computer screen isn't what prints out (depending on your printer) blue could be green)! I had it covered... and I think between the two of us we produced a great line for her that was exactly what she had envisioned.
Shown below is an example of how I tied in a sweet engagement idea into the theme of her country wedding. (Photo by Jess Boesl of Boesl Portrait Design)
More from Karli's Wedding Collection to come soon! :)
A good designer remembers to look everywhere for inspiration. The best place being nature itself... and one of natures loveliest creations just happens to be... the butterfly. An entire spring collection to last a lifetime. Here are three that stuck around long enough to pose for me and show off their stunning outfits.
